But I thought I would update this thing since I had a rather good weekend but a not so good monday and I won't have the energy to update this thing by tomorrow night.
Soooooo, I think I last updated Thursday? Friday I did nothing really except some laundry. Big whoop. Oh! and I took Stephen to work and picked up Amber from work, and I got a free sub, so it was all good.
Saturday was the Grainger County Tomato Fest. Quite fun. I was in the Tomato War and was the last one on my team to get out. Here's the deal with the war: there are 2 teams of 6 players each on a field. The field has a few large barrels on it for the players to hide behind and a few boxes of tomatoes (some rotten, some fresh) on the field so we can arm ourselves. I was placed on a team with 5 other people who I didn't know, all of whom were in their 20's, they were some really nice people. None of them had been in a tomato war before (I've done it twice before) so yeah, they were asking me the best way to play, and the best I could say is to just move around a lot. So yeah, we're against this team of 6 guys who all looked like they were in their 40's, and they were all in matching Tony the Tiger t-shirts. Yeah. So. The other 5 memebers of my team got out right away. So this leaves me against these 6 dudes. People in the crowd were yelling "Don't let the little girl beat ya!" and that just got me going even more. So, I'm ducking and running and jumping ( I have video that I'll post somewhere once I get back to NY, cuz if I do it here the comp might seriously burst into flames) and I'm crouching behind this big barrel, I pop up chuck a tomato as hard as I can and instantly duck back behind the barrel and then I hear the whistle blow. Meaning, I HIT SOMEONE. Wooooooooot. I got someone out! Right in the chest too apparently. After I heard the whistle I lept up and ws cheering and singing and did this little happy dance that had the whole crowd laughing, and yeah. I was happy. But I got out a few mins later, so it was short lived. But I was quite proud of myself
I was sposed to have yesterday off, BUT, my boss, Art, called me around 5 Saturday night asking if I'd like to work so that Doris (one of the other line workers) wouldn't have to close by herself. I said I'd work cuz I don't think anyone should ever have to close by themself, it's the worst thing u can imagine. So I didn't have to be in until 1, so I was able to wake up and go to church with my grandpa in the morning which was nice since I never get to go cuz I've had to work every sunday morning since we got here. So work wasn't too bad, and I got a good chunk of overtime which is quite nice. But I get to work today and find out some crappy ass news. I had to close by myself. The one lady that was sposed to close with me is in Ohio or something, and the other hurt her leg lat week and isn't allowed to work the line. So that left me all by myself from 4 until 9. AND I get to do it all again tomorrow. Fan-freaking-tastic. I'm more than a little pissed. They sit there and do everything they possibly can to keep everyother person in that restaurant from closing by themself, and then they make me do it all alone. Bitches. That's the only problem I have with my job. I don't mind working the doubles or going in on my days off, as long as I get the same favors in return. But nope. Oh well.
I'm quite excited for Wednesday tho. Not only do I have a day off (woot) but I'm going on my first college visit to the University of Tennessee. I'm freaking excited. I've watned to go to this school since I was like...8. I can't wait to go get a real good look at the campus and stuff.
And Shawn is in Florida for the week, the lucky butthead. He gets to play with dolphins. Pfft, I'd do anything to get to play with a dolphin. Seriously. But yeah, I hope he has fun and hopefully I'll get to talk to him tomorrow after I get home.
Ok, I think that's all from here. Time for some sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
